TERM 2
WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Anna-Marie Bothe
Principal
Our new School Values have been co-created by our staff, based on Lutheran Education Australia’s Free to Flourish – four characteristics of flourishing Christian schools that use the contemporary learning approach to help students, staff and families to thrive.
These values are:
We are:
Compassionate - Adventurous - Relational - Empowered
Each value has a Bible verse that gives it meaning, a definition and statements on what it looks like in everyday life at St Paul’s. Values are all about why and how we do things at St Paul’s and they link our Christian and educational approaches together.
This term we are focusing on:
We are Adventurous
We believe that life is a journey of discovery through courageous exploration of the world God made.
Isaiah 40:41
But those whose hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
This term, students will create several expectations for behaviour and how we treat others based on each of our four values, which will be displayed in their classrooms. We look forward to continuing embedding these values in our everyday school life!
mainly music
We are grateful to the Lutheran Church of Australia’s NSW and ACT District for providing us with a grant that supports St Paul’s Lutheran Church and our school in sharing God’s love and building relationships with young families through our mainly music program.
Each term we plan how we can help our mainly music families feel supported by and connected to our school community – we would love to welcome Kindergarten enrolments from mainly music families! We thank our parent and grandparent volunteers who put so much time and effort into presenting and supporting the mainly music program: Breanna Bissett, Bek Lubke, Megan Schuller, Renae Lieschke, Francis Clarke, Cheryl Lubke and Janine Schuller.
Welcome back for Term 2! It has been lovely to see all the students so eager to come back and reconnect with their friends and teachers. It promises to be a busy but exciting term!
Thank you to the students who represented our school at the Anzac Day service. All the students were great ambassadors for St Paul’s.
Congratulations to our new SRC representatives for Term 2 –Neve, Eli, Ivan, Tilly, Meg, Daniel, Louisa and Matilda. We look forward to your contributions to our school and the ideas you may have to make our school an even better place.
Just a reminder that hats are still required for outside play. The warmer, sunnier weather has continued longer than expected so students still need them. Please remind students to either keep them in their bags or in their tubs at school.
We look forward to our Athletics Carnival on Friday at St Paul’s College, Walla Walla. All students need to be there by 9.40am, wearing their house colours or sports uniform. A reminder that they will need their hats, water bottles and food.
Due to a large number of students being away next Monday (NSW Schools’ Netball Cup) there will NOT be tuckshop next Monday, 12th May. Instead, we will have tuck shop next Friday 16th May.
Blessings for the week ahead,
Christine
Just a friendly reminder that students need a HAT everyday!

We are straight back into the swing of learning in the K-2 class! There has already been some great writing and maths happening.
We have started to read the novel ‘Space Boy” by David Walliams. We are looking forward to reading about Ruth and the adventures she has.
The K-3 cohort produced some beautiful artwork to display in the mainly music room for their Mother’s Day session. It involved painting and very careful cutting out! Well done to all the students for some great work.
Christine Biar
This week we have been reading ‘How to save the whole stinkin’ planet’ for our unit ‘Caring for Mother Earth’. We have learnt that humans produce around 2 billion tonnes of rubbish a year…which is the same as 37,900 Sydney Harbour Bridges!
Across K-6 this term, we are exploring the topic of ‘Space’ in science. Last week, we had fun learning about the phases of the moon using Oreos!
Ask a K-3 student why the sun is important…they might have a fun fact about the sun being made of hydrogen or that plants need the sun so they can create plant food through the process of photosynthesis!
Blessings,
Miss Ridley
In 5/6, our new theme for English is 'The Drastic Plastic Problem'. We have read the book “Walk of the Whales" by Nick Bland and explored the issue of pollution in our oceans.
In Maths, students have been measuring area and perimeter this week. On Monday, students had the task of making a square metre from butcher’s paper to use to measure areas within the classroom.
In History, 4/5/6 have explored what makes an event or development historically significant and looked through defining moments in Australian History of the 1800s.
Wishing all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday. Thank you for all you do – enjoy your special day!!
Blessings,
Felicity
We had such a lovely morning spending time with our Grandparents!
The 2/3 class lead our special Grandparents Day Chapel on Tuesday which was followed by a picnic morning tea. We enjoyed playing games, reading to our grandparents and showing them around the school.
Thank you to all our grandparents and family for joining us!
TERM 2 - Week 2
Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.
Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!
The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
On Tuesday 6th May, 7 of our students and Miss Ridley travelled to the Jindera Golf Course for the RAS Cross Country Carnival.
We had some amazing results, with three of our students finishing in the top 6 for their age group and qualifying to participate at the CIS Cross Country event in June.
8/9 Years Boys – Gabe and Abel
11 Years Boys – Wyatt
Even though we had the smallest number of students from any school competing on the day, the results of our students placed St Paul’s in 2nd place in the aggregate.
Well done and congratulations to you all!!
Next Tuckshop: 7th April
