TERM 2
WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Staff at St Paul’s are thankful of the extremely committed parents and families at our school. Your continual contributions of your time and energy in support of St Paul’s helps build a vibrant, positive and progressive learning environment.
The Power of Working Together
We also value parent voice and I am looking forward to meeting with you all at our Term 4 Parent Information Session on Tuesday 15 November. We will be sharing our learning journey and initiatives for 2023. Our school board members will also be there, so it will be a great opportunity to join together as a school community and celebrate the future plans of our wonderful school.
Update on COVID Requirements
We received advice from AISNSW regarding the updated isolation rules for COVID-19. While the government no longer require testing and isolation, NSW Health strongly encourage continuing this practice. Based on our risk assessment, and in line with NSW Department of Education schools, we will be following the below procedures:
• Staff and students are asked to remain home if they have acute symptoms of COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses
• Staff and Students are required to stay home if they test positive to COVID-19 until they are symptom free
• Staff and students are required to notify the school if they test positive - this helps us to notify and protect our community from further spread

St Paul’s appreciates …
Appreciation is in full swing this term at St Paul’s and this week the focus has been to look for those moments where collaboration is in action and write a ‘shout out’ or two to let someone know how much you appreciate their hard work when working with others. It’s not always easy and certainly takes practice.
The rain has been hindering our play a little lately. However, it hasn’t stopped some mad cricketers getting out onto the multipurpose court and it has been wonderful to see collaboration in action between our youngest members of school – the Kinders and the big kids playing and collaborating together.
It sure is great to be able to welcome families back on site this year. After what’s been a strange few years with COVID, it really is wonderful to welcome people back on site. This term, we have lots of opportunities to build connections and community through different events at school. The first of which was Grandparent’s Day! What a great day we had on Tuesday. Thank you to our wonderful Grandparents and special friends who came to our Chapel, morning tea and activity time. It was wonderful to watch Grandparents and children painting each other’s hands to make artwork together. We were blessed to have you here with us!
Over the coming weeks there are several events happening. Here’s some information on a few, but please check out the important dates below for additional events:

There's been lots of creativity flowing from the K/1/2 classroom over the last few weeks. We are especially proud of our artworks and we hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we enjoyed creating them!
Our PBL projects are in the process of being made which we are very excited about! Today, we had our chicken coop dropped off at school for students to add the finishing touches, thank you Dave and Sue Forland!
With the concert quickly approaching, we will begin full dress rehersals soon. 3-6 will be dressing as farmers for their class concert. If they could please bring their farmer clothes in by next Monday 31 October that would be fantastic!
A reminder for year 5 students, their School and Sport Captain speeches need to be in Monday at the latest. Speeches will be held on Tuesday after assembly for any families who wish to attend.
Many blessings,
Katie Ridley
This term in Creative Arts students will be focusing on Music.
K-2 will be experiencing music from different times (symphony), music from different lands (Africa and Denmark), music for different purposes (spiritual and clapping rhymes), music for dancing (old time dance and folk dance), and how music and dance can tell a story (mime and sound story).Through these areas they will be exploring the musical elements of beat, rhythm, melody, dynamics, tempo, form, and tone colour.
3-6 will be experiencing songs with actions, songs and dance from different lands (East Timor), song and dance from different times (Colonial Australia), and song and dance for special occasions (festivals).Through these areas they will be exploring the musical elements of beat, rhythm, melody, harmony, tempo, form, and style.
Mrs Jill Tucker will be visiting St Paul's on Friday 21st October. She is a very experienced examiner of speech and does her best to put students at ease.
Students in Years 5 & 6 have been preparing work for the occasion, but still need to brush up a little to be at their best on the day.
Parents and Friends are encouraged to come to support their child and be part of the exam process.
If you would like to discuss anything relating to the work your child is doing please feel welcome to call me on 0427 889 599.
Best wishes to all,
Grace Stein

The Numbers Are In
For this year's Field Days we were rostered on for the shed that is traditionally considered the quietest shed, so going in to the Field Days we didn't have expectations of particularly enormous takings.
Well we got that wrong! A combination of crowd sizes plus fabulous food and hard working people saw a profit from Field Days that was so far above and beyond our expectations.
Thanks to all the efforts from our St Pauls' Families & Friends we are so pleased to announce that give or take a bit of change the P&F made
$21,800!!
We look forward to showcasing our student's many talents at the end-of-year School Concert.
When: Friday 4th November 6:30pm
Where: St Paul's School Hall
Who: Feel free to invite Family Members, Grandparents and any Special Guests
School families please bring a plate of supper to share after the concert
Students will have received lines and any costume requirements from their class teacher
Please have students at school by 6pm
It's almost time to pack our shoeboxes!
We have a little time up our sleeve so if anyone would still like to send items in please feel free to do so, by the end of Week 2 would be ideal.
