TERM 2
WEEK 5
WEEK 5
It is so good to be back and part of the life of St Paul’s! I am grateful to have been able to take a five-week sabbatical, where the purpose was to spend time reflecting on my professional journey, spiritual health, mental and physical well-being, and complete some units of my Masters in Leadership. I was able to be fully present as a father, husband and connect with my closest friends. Having space to spend time in God’s word and worship was a highlight. There was also a good portion of adventure!
Every minute of every day was full of purpose and there was a wide range of experiences that enabled a recharge, refocus and provided clarity in my role as Principal.
One key word resonated throughout my leave: INTENTIONAL. The power of being intentional lies in its ability to bring focus, purpose, and meaningful direction to our actions and decisions. When you approach tasks, relationships, and goals with intention, you are deliberately choosing how you want to engage with them.
When you are intentional, you are fully present in the moment. This fosters a sense of mindfulness, allowing you to engage deeply with your surroundings, experiences and with your interactions with the people who surround you. Being intentionally present is a powerful relationship builder!
THE POWER OF BEING INTENTIONAL
I thoroughly enjoy my job and I was already in a positive place when I began my leave. This sabbatical has reinforced my commitment to our school, our families, staff and most importantly, our students.
Thank you to Mr Peter Weier and all our fantastic staff team here at St Paul’s for the support and commitment you display daily to your students and our wonderful school.
Yours in Christian service
Brad Moss
Principal
I encourage you to ask your child/ren about some of our chapel messages and see what they have they have learnt over the past 6 weeks of worshiping together.
School Production
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the characters in action… So many people to thank, however I’ll save that for the night. I hope you enjoy the show!
Father’s Day Breakfast & Chapel
Our next Chapel service will be on Tuesday 29th August and lead by Mr Moss. It’s a very special service as we celebrate the wonderful men in our world.
If you haven’t let Alison know if you’ll be attending, please do ASAP for catering purposes. Thanks to our P&F for organising a bacon and egg breakfast.
Book Parade
What fun reading is! If our students do any work at home, all we ask is that they read! We have already held our book fair, however, to celebrate the joy that books bring, we will have our Book Parade on Wednesday 6th September (Week 8) at 9:20am.
We have had quite a big term with production, so the staff have decided to focus on ‘hats’ and make it a hat parade from a loved character. If students have a costume they are keen to wear that matches their hat, there is no problem at all for them to wear both.
Chapel theme
This term we have been talking about being curious about God’s word by delving into some of the parables that Jesus told. So far, we have spoken about the Parable of the:
Have a blessed week!

Our school is using the Perspectives: Your school in focus suite of surveys developed by AISNSW to support our school improvement endeavours. The information gathered will assist in furthering the growth and development of our school community. We will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
These surveys have been specifically designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of stakeholders’ perceptions of five important areas: School Environment, Teaching and Learning, Student Wellbeing, Leadership and Community. All staff, students, parents/guardians, leaders and board members will be invited to participate.
The surveys were emailed earlier this week, and will be available from 7th August to 20th August. The surveys are conducted online, taking approximately 15- 20 minutes to complete. The survey link has been distributed via email to all from ‘evidence@aisnsw.edu,au’ on behalf of the school.
Your input and contribution are important to the success of our continuous school improvement process as we aspire to improve the learning experience for everyone at our school.
For any enquiries about the surveys please contact the school for more details.

On Wednesday 16th August, the K, 1, 2 students walked to the Henty Library for an author visit, as part of Book Week celebrations.
Together with the K,1,2 students from Henty Public, we listened to Debra Tidball talk about the writing process she goes through to write stories. She read her latest book, Anchored, we drew a tugboat together and we sent a boat for a ride on a sea of students!
Debra even autographed our library’s copy of her book When I See Grandma for us.
On Thursday, we went for a walk around Henty hunting for signs of spring, as we have been learning about the seasons.
We used our senses of sight, touch and smell to locate many things indicating that spring is just around the corner.
We are certainly looking forward to performing Toy Story 2 for everyone this Friday!

FUN in the SUN PLAYING SPORT
5/6 have been super busy this term!
From rehearsing for Toy Story to rugby and hockey coaching!
At the end of last term, the Year 6 Leadership Team raised $72.60 for Hands at Work. The day involved students dressing in casual clothes and a movie afternoon with popcorn. Well done Year 6!
Many blessings,
Miss Katie Ridley
This term our focus is on Drama, and we are well under way with preparations for Toy Story!
Our main characters in Years 4-6 have been busily rehearsing scenes, with the remaining Years 2-4 students popping in for theirs. It has been great to watch the development of our students’ performances as they have progressed from reading the script to knowing (most) of their lines and being more animated in their movements and actions.
We are looking forward to rehearsing with the AMAZING props being created by our dedicated St Paul’s community.
To inspire the K/1 students who have been less involved in rehearsing at this stage, we have watched some ‘How to Draw’ Toy Story character videos and created some INCREDIBLE artworks.
