TERM 2
WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Anna-Marie Bothe
Interim Principal
What a wonderful Term 1 we’ve had at St Paul’s of focusing on our school value of “We are COMPASSIONATE”. It has brought me so much joy to share examples of how this value has been lived out in our school community. There is no greater example of compassion in our School Community than what Jesus did for us in taking on the punishment for our sins himself so that we are freely forgiven. This isn’t something that is just historical – it has a wonderful positive impact on our school community daily. Knowing that we are forgiven and unconditionally loved enables us to do the same for each other. Through Restorative Practices at St Paul’s, we take responsibility for what we do that negatively impacts others, repair relationships through healing hurt and figure out ways to move forward positively. This is driven by God’s unconditional love for us that we share with each other.
I pray that you all have a blessed and safe Easter and school holiday. Thank you for all you’ve done this term to contribute to our thriving community at St Paul’s.
Here we are in the final week of the term! I hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep on Saturday night! The cooler nights have certainly made sleeping more pleasant!
We are looking forward to our Cross Country on Friday. We will come to school first for the roll and then the students are looking forward to presenting their PBL Showcases. After that we will head to the Henty Golf Course for the Cross Country. Thank you to the parents who have offered to transport the students and assist on the day. Thank you also to the P & F who will be supplying the BBQ lunch. Afterwards we will be enjoying some fun activities, led by the SRC students, which the mainly music children have been invited to as well.
Just a reminder that we have Anzac Day in the second week of the holidays. We will all meet at 10.15am at Ivor St (between Sladen and Lyne Streets) in our school uniforms. At 10.45am everyone involved will march to Henty Memorial Park, where the Anzac Day service will take place. This is always a wonderful time to be involved in the community and we would encourage as many students as possible to represent St Paul’s at this event.
Wishing everyone a blessed Easter with their families and friends as we celebrate the risen Jesus. Please stay safe over the holiday period, especially if you are travelling.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 29th April ready for Term 2!
God’s blessings,
Christine

The K-3 have done a great job making their fruit and vegetable collages. Although they took quite some time and were reasonably fiddly, they were all proud of the end results. Here are a few of the completed artworks:
K-2 have been making some beautiful artwork which shows the true meaning of Easter.
Blessings,
Christine Biar
Enjoy the collection of Easter themed art across K-6.
Have a happy and safe Easter,
Miss Ridley
In 5/6, students are working on another investigation, combining their skills in place value, percentages, mass and graphing (using dot plots and column graphs). Their task is to investigate the nutritional value of cereals by examining the percentages of protein, fat, carbohydrate, sugar and fibre to recommend three cereals for the ‘Breakfast Club’.
4/5/6 have been busily preparing for their PBL showcase on Friday, to share ‘As consultants, how can we make recommendations for the sustainable production of food and fibre products?'
Well done to Simeon for giving his best effort at the CIS AFL trials on Monday. Even though he wasn’t successful in making the team he enjoyed the experience and coaching.
What a great day and great opportunity for four of our 5/6 students to combine with boys from St Jospeh’s Culcairn and St Patrick’s Holbrook for the annual Hume Paul Kelly Cup. The boys faced some tough competition from Lockhart in their first round but had convincing wins in their next two rounds against Culcairn Public and Henty Public. They made it through to the final, once again facing the team from Lockhart and unfortunately being defeated. It was great to see the improved teamwork throughout the day. Thanks to Tim Lubke for coaching the boys on the day, to the parents for transporting them, and to our No.1 supporter – Indi.
Wishing you all a safe and blessed Easter!

We had such a lovely morning spending time with our Grandparents!
The 2/3 class lead our special Grandparents Day Chapel on Tuesday which was followed by a picnic morning tea. We enjoyed playing games, reading to our grandparents and showing them around the school.
Thank you to all our grandparents and family for joining us!
Congratulations to Connor, Annabel & Rosie!
Spirit Awards - Week 11
Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.
Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!
The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.
On Friday 1st of September, Years 3 to 6 went to Yerong Creek for the Bernie O’Connor Carnival. We played with St Joseph’s, Culcairn and St Patrick’s, Holbrook. It was a great day! The sun was shining, and everyone had lot’s of fun.
The 5/6 boys played footy and came 1st for the whole day. We played against The Rock and the score was 12 to 32. The 3-4 boys came 3rd in the whole day. Well done to the 5/6 and 3/4 girls playing netball who got runners up.
Well done to Ivan and Neve for playing with students they didn’t know.
Congratulations to Blake for winning the furthest kicking competition.
Thank you for the coaches and families who helped on the day.
