A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As I write my final newsletter, I find myself reflecting on the incredible community that makes St Paul’s so special. Our school is a place where positivity thrives, growth is celebrated, learning is embraced and parent support gives strength to our community. It is a place of substance, where the Christian values we hold dear shape the lives of our students and inspire us all to be our best.

This community is built on the foundation of amazing families who partner with us, dedicated staff who pour their hearts into their work and students who bring joy, curiosity and a sense of wonder to each day. Together, we have created a nurturing environment where every individual is valued.

As I prepare to step into the next chapter of my journey, I am filled with confidence and excitement for what lies ahead for St Paul’s. With Mrs. Anna-Marie Bothe as interim principal, the school is in exceptionally capable hands. Her dedication, vision, and deep understanding of our community will ensure a smooth transition and continued growth. I know she will lead with care and wisdom, building on the strong foundations and working in collaboration with the amazing St Paul’s staff team.

I cannot wait to hear about the many successes and milestones that lie ahead for St Paul’s. This school will always hold a special place for me and I will carry the memories of my time here with immense gratitude.Thank you for the privilege of being part of this remarkable community. May God continue to bless and guide St Paul’s as it moves forward into this exciting new season.

Yours in Christian Service,

Brad Moss

God bless you all over the holidays and we look forward to 2025!

Christine Biar

On Tuesday night we enjoyed celebrating with the Year 6 students as their primary school journey nears the end. I would like to take this opportunity to thank these students for the contributions they have made to St Paul’s over the years. Thank you – Mitchell, Zoe, Rachael, Harvey, Xander, Eden and Beau – for being role models to the younger students and stepping up into leadership positions. We wish you all the very best as you prepare for high school and the different challenges and opportunities you will encounter. Remember that God will always be with you throughout any difficulties and celebrations. I pray that you will call on Him not only when you need His help, but also to thank Him for being with you when things are going well.

We also farewell Dale and Renae Lieschke, Dave and Sue Forland, and Ash and Sheena Paech. Thank you for being great supporters of St Paul’s. Your children may have finished their formal association with St Paul’s but we hope that you can remain friends of the school and come back to visit!

We wish Brad Moss all the very best as he also leaves the St Paul’s community. I’m sure the students will remember Mr Moss for playing handball with them, playing the guitar, enthusing them about learning and his passionate ‘Amens’! Thank you for your leadership and dedication over the last 3 years. You will be missed but we know that Victory will enjoy your vibrancy and enthusiasm!

I pray that you all have a wonderful, blessed Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus with family and friends. Enjoy a well-earned break from school lunches and washing uniforms. We, as a staff, are excited about the potential for incredible collaboration and exciting learning to take place next year and we can’t wait to put it into action.

Just a friendly reminder that we would prefer students to have healthy food in their lunchboxes.

Please save the chocolates and lollies for home.

Thank you.

YEAR K & 1

We have had a visitor in our classroom this week. He is a very cheeky elf! He enjoys doing something different every day. It was a great stimulus for some wonderful writing!

God bless,

Christine Biar

Once upon a time there was an elf singing on the playground. When it was getting cold, the elf had to go to the South Pole. But it didn’t know how to get to the South Pole. But Santa came to save the elf and Santa took the elf to the South Pole. Jonathan

We have an elf in our classroom and it stole a candy cane for dinner. Then he made a swing. His colour of his shoes is black and his colour of his T-shirt is white and red. Then it made a zipline and it tried it and it got stuck. Sammy

We have an elf on the shelf in our classroom. We can’t touch it and I love it in our classroom but if we’re naughty you don’t get presents!   Rosie

On Wednesday we enjoyed making Christmas cookies! We made some delicious Christmas trees – one to eat at school and one to take home. Cooking is always so much fun!

Thank you for the privilege of teaching your wonderful children this year. It has been a real blessing and joy.

Have a wonderful Christmas break and I look forward to seeing how much the students have grown over the Christmas break!

YEAR 2 & 3

Blessings for the Christmas season and safety over the holidays,

Miss Ridley

We are feeling the Christmas cheer in the 2/3 class! On Wednesday, we baked Christmas choc chip cookies using Christmas shaped cookie cutters.

2/3 are very excited to share their PBL projects with everyone at the Showcase next Monday. We hope to see you there!

May you all enjoy a safe and blessed Christmas with loved ones

Blessings,

Felicity

We were very pleased for the power to come back on and the rain to ease last Wednesday so that our markets could go ahead. Thank you to the families and friends that came along, and the students of St Paul’s for supporting the 4/5/6 class in this project. Their profits of just over $300 will be donated to ALWS through Gifts of Grace. Congratulations to everyone on their efforts!

On Tuesday we attended the ‘Keeping safe in Cyberspace - How to have fun and stay safe online!’ presentation by Susan McLean. Students completed a comprehensive workbook which reinforced the learning outcomes of: rules and laws, cyberbullying, online ‘friends’, age requirements for sites and apps, staying safe online and being a good digital citizen.

Our time in ‘Zones’ has resulted in some amazing Plus-Plus creations throughout the year. The students’ creativity is endless!

The celebrations of graduation have begun for Year 6, leading chapel for the last time, enjoying dinner together with their parents/carers and staff on Tuesday night, continuing on Friday at Laser Tag and Oasis in Wagga and culminating in the Graduation and Awards Service next week. You have all been a blessing to St Paul’s, whether it has been for a long time or a short time, and I wish you all the very best as you begin your high school journey.

YEAR 4 5 6

GRANDPARENT'S DAY

We had such a lovely morning spending time with our Grandparents!

The 2/3 class lead our special Grandparents Day Chapel on Tuesday which was followed by a picnic morning tea. We enjoyed playing games, reading to our grandparents and showing them around the school.

Thank you to all our grandparents and family for joining us!

P&F UPDATE

Well the Year of the Big Shed came, we saw it and we conquered it! The 2024 HMFD was a huge success. We had 150 shift spaces to fill and we did it! Thank you to all our families & friends who pitched in over the event. We needed your support and you didn't let us down.

Thanks to our combined effort we raised over $50,000!!

The P&F have decided to contribute $50,000 to be put towards a new playground and outdoor learning space at school, a place current and future students will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Our first event in 2025 will be our annual Welcome BBQ to be held on Sunday 2nd February. This is always a great day to catch up after the summer break. More details to come in the New Year.

BERNIE O'CONNOR CARNIVAL

On Friday 1st of September, Years 3 to 6 went to Yerong Creek for the Bernie O’Connor Carnival. We played with St Joseph’s, Culcairn and St Patrick’s, Holbrook. It was a great day!  The sun was shining, and everyone had lot’s of fun.

The 5/6 boys played footy and came 1st for the whole day. We played against The Rock and the score was 12 to 32. The 3-4 boys came 3rd in the whole day. Well done to the 5/6 and 3/4 girls playing netball who got runners up.

Well done to Ivan and Neve for playing with students they didn’t know.

Congratulations to Blake for winning the furthest kicking competition.

Thank you for the coaches and families who helped on the day.
